Our journey began when Dr. Derek Lomas started Playpower Foundation in 2009, with his pioneering work in accessible digital learning technology and learning games. With a vision to transform education through human-centered technology, he started Playpower Labs in 2011, where rigorous research and development in learning sciences and educational AI took place.
For over 12 years, our founding team, Nirmal Patel and Dr. Derek Lomas, has collaborated at Playpower Labs, conducting rigorous research that has been published in top-tier academic journals and conferences. This deep educational foundation gives us unique insights into how technology can truly enhance human learning and development.
EdOptimize was started in 2024 with our rich experience in the education technology sector, expanding our mission beyond classrooms to help organizations across industries optimize human outcomes through scientifically-backed technology and AI solutions.
